The grim episode happened over the weekend at Christ Avenue, situated in the Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti. Conflicting reports emerged regarding the precise timing of the incident, with some sources indicating it transpired on Friday evening.
According to eyewitnesses, the couple, whose identities remain undisclosed, had sent their elder child on an errand before locking themselves inside their apartment. It was within the confines of their home that a heated altercation erupted, fueled by accusations of marital infidelity.
The husband, purportedly a law enforcement agent, and his wife, who was employed at a chemist shop, engaged in a violent confrontation, resulting in both parties sustaining severe injuries from sharp objects. A witness recounted the harrowing scene, stating, “They locked themselves up inside their apartment with their younger child of about five years. The man confronted the deceased over allegations that she was cheating on him, a fight ensued leading him to stab his wife to death.”
