The Adams Oshiomhole led All Progressives Congress, APC, of Edo, said it designed a 20-years development plan for the state, shortly after its inauguration on November 12, 2008.
Mr Godwin Obaseki, the APC governorship candidate for the September 10 election in the state, who disclosed this during a rally at ward 6 in Ikopa-Okha, said almost eight years of the plan have been a success.
Obaseki noted that his quest to be governor, was as a result of his desire to ensure that the successes recorded by the Oshiomhole led government, are taken to the next level.
“Oshiomhole has started the plan by constructing roads, building schools, hospitals and the provision of water.
“For me, while we will continue with the roads, schools and other infrastructural projects, our priority will be human capital development.
“We will be attracting investments into the state, give out soft loans to our women, as well as gainfully engaging our youths,” he stated.
Similarly, Mr Anselm Ojezua, the state APC chairman, said Obaseki has been part of the rebuilding process of the Edo project.
According to him, Obaseki is better suited for the governorship seat because he has been part of Oshiomhole’s government success story this past seven years.
The chairman noted that a vote for APC will mean a vote for continuity of the laudable projects the present administration has started.
Speaking on Obaseki’s deputy, Mr Philip Shaibu, Ojezua noted that Shaibu represents the youths and as such, the youths will be carried along when they are elected into office.
“Through Shaibu, the youth will have a sense of belonging,” he said.
