Shobanjo supports AMCRON, Chairs Conference

Nigeria’s doyen of public relations and marketing communications and Chairman of Troyka Holdings Limited, Dr. Biodun Shobanjo, OON, has said that he will support and also chair the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Association of Media and Communication Researchers of Nigeria (AMCRON).

The conference, which focuses on the theme: ‘Communication, Mass Media & Governance in Africa: Trajectories, Expectations and Realities’ is billed to hold at the Biodun Shobanjo Centre of Excellence in Multimedia Technology and Cinematography, Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos from December 6 to 7, 2023. The conference will pull together the crème-de-la-crème of the town and gown of Nigeria’s media industry.

In a statement released by Dr. (Chief) Fassy Adetokunboh Yusuf, Dr. Shobanjo said that Troyka Holdings will sponsor a major aspect of the conference while it will be his “pleasure to Chairman the opening ceremony of the conference”. Continuing, Dr. Yusuf said that the two gestures by Dr. Shobanjo are classic examples of his immutable social innovations cum social responsibility and responsiveness.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Association, Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye, has said that the conference will examine the constantly evolving social media dynamics and trajectories of the relationship between the mass media and governance in Africa.

According to the President of the Association, Prof. Eserinune McCarty Mojaye, AMCRON is a registered corporate body that seeks to enhance knowledge, research and development in media and communication for society’s socio-political and economic progress and also create a bridge between the town and the gown for integrating media and communication notions and ideas towards national and international development.
