Sir Jude Ejiogu
The immediate past Secretary to the Government of Imo State (SGI), Sir Jude Ejiogu has offered scholarships to Imo youths in any university of their choice, after seeing the pure water hawkers escape motor accident while trying to attend to customers as a result of the harsh economic meltdown.
Sir Ejiogu, who was touched by the incident which occured while he was on his way back after attending a church service at Holy Cross Catholic Parish, Aladinma Owerri on Sunday, November 13, 2016 offered the youths scholarships as part of his social contribution to give indigent families the opportunity to be relevant in life.
He did not only give the lucky pure water hawkers scholarships, but insisted on meeting with their parents to caution them on the dangers of sending the little children out to hawk.
According to Sir Ejiogu, sending little children out to hawk on Sunday is not only an offense but an affront to the sensibility of humanity when they are supposed to be in church as a mark of respect to God, pointing out that such conduct would not be tolerated.
He, therefore, appealed to parents to take good care of their children and avoid risking their lives, while adopting the kids as his children who would be trained to any level they want in life.
