Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu has assured that his administration’s polices and programmes are geared towards making life better for all in the state.
The governor, who spoke Wednesday during the official flag off ceremony of palliatives distribution to needy and deserving Nigerians at the Government House, assured that, he “will leave no stone unturned to make life better for all.”
In line with that promise, the governor said, his administration has decided to add additional 12,362 bags of 25kg rice to the initial 12,367 bags given by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the people of the state.
While reiterating that, the occasion is special hence it’s aimed of putting smiles of the faces of Nigerians, the governor added that, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the masses at heart always.
“Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a President with listening ears and have the people in his heart at all times,” governor Ahmed noted.
He further stated that his administration has also ordered the purchase of 300 trucks of rice to be sold to the people of the state at a highly subsidized rate.
Commenting on the security situation, the governor commended the President for ordering service chiefs to relocate to Sokoto and flush out bandits and all other enemies of the country who have been disturbing the peace of the state.
Addressing the gathering, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Kabir Masari said if President Tinubu can give such huge palliatives, then, Nigerians should expect more from him in no distant time.
Also speaking at the event, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has Sokoto state in all his agenda.
”This explains why the President recently awarded a road contract from Illela in Sokoto down to Augi, a road that will reach the border town of Badagry in Lagos state.
“The President also gave lots of money for the sustainability of Sokoto State Rural Rima Basin Development Authority that is geared towards bolstering agriculture and fishing in the state.
“‘We are not surprised that the President is caring for Nigerians because he has said it before that his only prayer was to lead Nigeria into greatness.”
Continuing, the Minster said global instability is contributing immensely to the food shortage challenges the nation is facing.
“For any nation to become great, they must take bitter decisions. And the only way to overcome is to encourage further understanding between the led and the leaders”, Minister Bagudu noted .
The Economic Planning Minister further said, the Federal Government is deeply concerned about insecurity in Nigeria and is working round the clock to bring it to an end.
“The Federal Government also has series of policies to boost farming, livestock rearing, economic prosperity and ensure security of all citizens,” he assured.
Responding on behalf of beneficiaries from among People Living With Disability (PLWD), Afsatu Muazu and Mallam Aminu Tsufi who spoke on behalf of Sokoto Islamic clerics thanked both the Federal and State governments as well as Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for their numerous supports to humanity.
