The Media mourns Wale Aboderin

The Nigerian Press Organisation, NPO, has expressed sadness at the death of Mr. Gbadebowale Aboderin, the Chairman of the Punch Group of Newspapers, on Wednesday, May 30, 2017, and described his demise as a big blow, not just to the Punch Group, but to the entire media landscape of Nigeria and Africa.

A statement by Nduka Obaigbena, President of the Organisation, which is made up of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN), the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),  lamented the untimely death of Aboderin, stressing that the late jovial, amiable and easy going consummate sports enthusiast, while he lived, served the public purpose.

The Organisation, in the statement dated May 31, 2018, offered its condolences to the Aboderin family and the Punch Group and prayed that his soul should find peace, Perfect peace.
