Operators of commercial tricycles in Enugu State has promised to help
the government attain its goal to secure the state and rid communities
The chairman of the Tricycle Riders Association in Enugu State, Mr.
Benjamin Ikah, made the remark when the group paid a courtesy visit to
the Government House, Enugu, recently.
Ikah showered encomiums on the state’s helmsman, Governor Ifeanyi
Ugwuanyi, for the commitment he shows in the people’s welfare. “Since
the creation of Enugu State we have never seen a governor who is
touched by the plight of the poor and takes everybody as one like this
“Your Excellency, we are proud of you and assure you of our maximum
support at all times,” he said, adding that his association will
always pray for the administration’s continued success.
Governor Ugwuanyi reassured members of the association that his
administration was determined to give everyone a sense of belonging
irrespective of their status in the society. The welfare of the people
will always remain his administration’s priority, he said, adding that

He promised to offer assistance to members who wish to procure new
tricycles at minimal bank interest rates. The governor also directed
both the state’s commissioner for transport and the chief security
officer to secure an office for them and ensure that members are no
more harassed by law enforcement agents.
