Nigeria Police partners UK, Swiss on anti-kidnap strategies · Participants to learn more and become better officers

Speaking at the occasion, the IGP stated that the training programme was being organised to boost the capabilities of the Nigeria Police particularly now that the country is battling the menace of kidnapping across the country.
The IGP, while restating his commitment to continue to drive reforms and strategic transformation of the Force in order to reposition for efficiency and effectiveness in its service delivery, advised against payment of ransom to kidnappers by victims’ families.
The facilitators led by John Branney of the National Crime Agency – UK and Matthias Herter of Swiss Crisis Management Unit promised to deliver the training using United Nation’s kidnap manual which is used in Europe and other parts of the world, adding that the workshop will benefit the Nigeria Police Force tremendously.
The workshop which commenced on Monday will last for five days.
