
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill of ₦1.39 trillion to the State House of Assembly. He described it as The People’s Budget of Expansion and Growth.
According to the Governor, the budget aims to strengthen the ARISE Agenda by improving food security, developing rural communities, completing major infrastructure, boosting tourism, enhancing security, and expanding access to good education and healthcare. It also supports small businesses, renewable energy, and environmental sustainability.
In the proposal, ₦354.8 billion (25%) is set aside for recurrent expenditure, while ₦1.035 trillion (75%) is allocated to capital projects. Governor Eno said this is a deliberate plan to encourage growth, create jobs, and stimulate economic activity across the state.
He added that the budget provides strong funding for roads, education, health, tourism, and other important sectors that will support long-term development.
