Umuokoro Umuariam Obowo sons, daughters share N1.5 million palliatives to kith & kin

Some of the items

Sons and daughters of Umuokoro Umuariam in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria, at home and abroad, have contributed about N1.5 million for purchase of different items for their kith and kin in the village.
The items already purchased, including about 44 bags of rice, 10 bags of beans and 150 cartons of indomie are part of their palliatives to alleviate the effects of the lockdown occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic otherwise known as COVID-19.
The men and women of the community in different cities of Nigeria, the United States of America, the United Kingdom and elsewhere in the world rallied themselves under the banner of Umuokoro Progressives to raise the funds which were used to purchase the items that have been shared out to the people.
There was palpable joy on the faces of recipients of the packages and many prayers for the well being of all, especially at this trying time in the history of the world.
More donations are still being received from other sons and daughters of the community and their spouses towards alleviating the hardship brought about by the lockdown declared by governments at different levels in Nigeria.
