Mr. Jonathan Asake, the governorship candidate of Labour Party (LP) in Kaduna State says he is not dropping out of Saturday’s gubernatorial election for any candidate.
Asake said this while addressing newsmen in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, the allegation that he collected N100m from Uba Sani, APC candidate and Gov. Nasir el-Rufai to damage PDP’s chances in Saturday’s election is unfounded.
“They are poisoning people’s mind that I am being sponsored by Uba Sani so that the votes of Southern Kaduna will be split and Uba Sani will win.
“None of the leaders of the PDP could face me and ask for a round table, instead they resorted to using proxies to get me to step down,” he said.
He challenged the PDP or anyone with evidence that he collected the money in question to make it public.
The LP candidate said that as one of the biggest critics of the APC-led government in the state, he could never go into any political deal with Sani and el-Rufai.
“They want to convince the electorate that a vote for Labour Party is a vote for the APC.
“All these, of course are lies. I have never and will never sit with Uba Sani and Nasir el-Rufai for any kind of political deal.
“I challenge anyone to come up with a shred of evidence that we ever met not to talk of collecting money from them,” he said.
Asake promised to provide effective and exemplary leadership for the people of Kaduna State if elected on Saturday.
