Valentine Ozigbo mourns Lady Symphorosa Chinelo Okonkwo; Says she lived selfless life

Valentine Ozigbo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag-bearer for the 2021 Anambra governorship election, joined the Okonkwo family of Enugwu Agidi in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State to pay his last respects to late Mrs Symphorosa Chinelo Okonkwo.

Late Mrs Okonkwo was the niece of Sir Victor Mbanefo, an influential PDP stakeholder in Ogbaru Local Government Area and a friend to Mr Ozigbo.

The funeral, held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, began with a requiem mass held at St. John’s Catholic Church, Enugwu-Agidi, officiated by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Michael-Kins Okpala.

While delivering the sermon, Rev. Fr. Okpala charged the congregation to make active use of their time on earth to touch lives and impact society positively so that their good works will outlive them after they are gone.

“A life well spent is not determined by a long number of years, but by the number of good deeds one was able to do while on earth,” the clergyman admonished.

“It is a privilege to wake up every morning, and as such, we should utilize every day as a fresh opportunity to do good.”

Father Michael consoled the deceased’s family, praying that they find succour and fortitude in the hope of resurrection.

In his condolence message, Valentine Ozigbo expressed sadness over the death of Mrs Okonkwo. He described the death as a loss too painful to bear and commiserated with the family.

“I am here today to commiserate with the entire Okonkwo family over the loss of their dear wife and mother. The large crowd gathered here today is evidence of the selfless life she lived,” Ozigbo, a respected business leader, said.

“My sincere condolence also goes to my friend, Sir Victor Mbanefo, whose niece we are here today to commit to mother earth. I pray that the Lord receives Mrs Symphorosa Okonkwo and grant her a peaceful repose,” Ozigbo prayed.

Barrister Innocent Okonkwo, who spoke on behalf of the bereaved family, thanked Ozigbo for finding time to come and mourn with them. He prayed for God’s continued guidance on Mr Ozigbo’s life and wished him well in all his endeavours.

Ozigbo was accompanied to the condolence visit by Chief Sunday Ezeobiora, Mr Gerry Ozigbo and other members of the VCO Campaign Organisation.
