WAFCON: Nigeria to face Cameroon in Quarter Final.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Sunday evening defeated debutants Burundi by 4 unreplied goals to setup a mouthwatering Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Quarter Final clash against archrivals Cameroon.

The Super Falcons finished second in group C behind South Africa whose 1-0 win over Botswana ensured progression with three wins from three games.

Nigeria’s Quarter Final opponent Cameroon were Second best in Group B. A win and two draws secured progression to the knockout stages for the Lioness of Cameroon.

The Super Falcons who are defending champions of the tournament will be eyeing a place in the Semi Final plus Qualification for the 2023 FIFA Womens World Cup when they file out against Cameroon in the Quarter final.

Nigeria will face Cameroon on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca Morocco.

In the other Quarter Final games, hosts Morocco who finished top in Group A will take on Group C best losers Botswana.

Zambia amassed 7 points to top Group B and are pitched against the second placed team in Group A, Senegal.

South Africa’s Bayana Bayana take on Tunisia in the last Quarter Final clash.

All four winners from this stage will represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in New Zealand.
