Reasons why Nigerian citizens in Nigeria and in the Diaspora must enroll for the National Identity Number (NIN) have been spelt out.
The enrollment exercise is currently going on in Nigeria and in countries around the world where Nigerians reside.
Upwell Finance and Kevonne Consults Ltd., which are partnering with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to facilitate Diaspora Enrolment Services, especially in the United States of America (USA) gave insights into why compatriots must enroll for the NIN in a statement made available to GPNEWS in New Jersey, USA.
The organizations, which said that the “enrolment for the NIN is mandatory for all Nigerian citizens (in Nigeria & the Diaspora), noted that the “NIN is a pre-requisite for government and social services including but not limited:
*The issuance and renewal of the Nigerian Passport, Driver’s License, Telephones, etc.
*Access to Government services such as Pension Payment, C of O, Customs clearance, etc.
*Access to Consular Services in all Nigerian Embassies and Missions.
*Opening, activation and operation of a Nigerian bank account, etc.”
The statement said further that all that is needed for the enrollment is ones Nigerian Passport (valid or expired) and BVN (if you have one).
