The Bauchi State Government has commenced the distribution of food and other relief materials to the victims of the recent windstorm in the state.
Speaking while flagging off of the exercise Wednesday at Tirwun village of Bauchi Local Government on behalf of the state governor, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Muhammad Nadada Umar, advised the victims to consider the incident as an act of Almighty Allah.
Umar, who said the gesture is to alleviate the sufferings of the victims, assured them that government is ready to assist all those affected in all nooks and crannies of the state.
In a remark, a Director in the state Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf Kobi, disclosed that the agency will collaborate with the federal government and other donor agencies for more intervention to the victims.
Responding, the Village Head of Tirwun, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad, who commended the state government for the prompt response to the plight of the victims, reassured the state officials of their loyalty and support to the government.
Alhaji Muhammad therefore promised to ensure judicious distribution of the relief materials to the affected persons.
