Airport authorities have promised full legal action against a female passenger who attacked airline crew and security staff at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two in Lagos.
Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, operators of MMA2, confirmed that the incident happened on Sunday, 10 August 2025, at about 2:30pm. The passenger, identified as Ms. Comfort Emmanson, had arrived from Uyo on Ibom Air flight QL 513.
According to the company, Ms. Emmanson refused to follow safety rules by not switching off her mobile phone during landing. She later assaulted Ibom Air cabin crew member Ms. Juliana Edward, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria Aviation Security officers, and other security staff during processing.
Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited said Ms. Emmanson’s behaviour endangered the safety of passengers and staff. The company stressed that such conduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances within the airport.
The airport operator explained that its zero-tolerance policy covers physical assault or threats against crew, violence towards security personnel, refusal to obey safety regulations, and disruptive behaviour that puts lives at risk.
Passengers involved in such acts will face immediate intervention by trained security officers, detention, investigation, prosecution under Nigerian aviation laws, possible restriction from airlines and airports, and payment for any losses or disruptions caused.
The passenger has been handed over to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria’s Aviation Security unit for investigation, and the Nigerian Police Airport Command has been notified.
Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited urged all travellers to follow safety instructions, treat airline and airport staff with respect, and report any troubling behaviour to security personnel. The company reaffirmed its commitment to providing safe and secure services for all passengers.
