2019: ‘Buhari must go,’ Atiku tells Adamawa people; ‘Nigerians have endorsed your son, don’t fail him,’ Secondus tells crowd

Yola, Feb. 14, 2019

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Thursday concluded his campaign tour in Adamawa, with a call on the people of the state to appreciate the emergence of their own and vote for him.

Addressing the huge crowd of party supporters at the grand finale rally in Yola, Adamawa state on Thursday, the former Vice President of Nigeria said as a son of the soil, there was no need for him to campaign at home, but that he had rather come to urge his kinsmen not to disappoint him on Saturday.

The visibly elated Atiku told his people that he had gone round the states of the country and was well received by Nigerians, stressing that “I have come home to vote, not to campaign because we are in it together, that Buhari must go.”

He also reiterated his pledge to address the problems of insecurity, unemployment, poverty and other challenges militating against the development of the country.

In his remarks, the National chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, urged the people of Adamawa to prove their love for Abubakar and the party, by voting for them on Saturday, adding that their son was a tested and trusted candidate that had what it takes to change Nigeria for the better.

Prince Secondus told the crowd that he can confirm to them after going round the country that ‘Nigerians have chosen their son, “your Wazirin, to be the next President of Nigeria. You must not disappoint him on Saturday.” He told them further that “we have a valentine gift for you, today is Valentine’s Day, and our gift  is that we brought the next President to you, your own son.”

He told Adamawa people that the rest of the country are happy that the state was able to produce a versatile and competent leader like Atiku Abubakar who he described as a gift to Nigeria.

He said that after the overwhelming support he was able to get from the other parts of the country, the people of Adamawa state cannot and should not allow their votes get wasted.

The National Chairman said that the party chose their son as the flag bearer because they see him as a tested and competent leader who will rescue the country from the destruction of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Prince Secondus said that Atiku as President will be active and innovative and will not be a sleeping President who would outsource all his powers to the cabals.

“With Atiku there will be no cabals, he will be the Commander in Chief and will be in charge of security and economic matters.

“Our security challenges, our economic problems and the issue of unemployment are all getting worse because the President is not active but sleeping on duty.

Secondus also tasked INEC, security agencies and all stakeholders, to ensure the conduct of credible elections.

In his remarks, the Adamawa gubernatorial candidate of PDP, Alhaji Umaru Fintiri, said if elected governor, he would ensure free and compulsory education in the state.

The PDP Presidential train that took off in Sokoto on December 3, 2018 made a final stop in Adamawa as presidential campaign ends in obedience to the requirements of the Electoral Act which demands that campaigns should halt 24 hours to voting.
