2019: Tambuwal emerges Sokoto PDP new guber candidate

Gov. Aminu Tambuwal

Danjuma James, Sokoto

After loosing the Presidential ticket  to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, delegates from the 23 local government areas on Sunday night at the party secretariat in Sokoto  endorsed Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal as the party’s new flag bearer for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

With this development, Tambuwal’s name may have replaced that of the immediate past Commissioner for Local Government Affairs in the state, Manir Dan’iya who earlier emerged as the candidate of the party.
One of the PDP Chieftains told Global Patriot Newspapers that the Party’s Constitution allows for such change of candidate before the final submission of names of contestants to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The former candidate that is being replaced, Manir Dan’iya was among the delegates who affirmed Tambuwal as the new guber candidate of the party in the state.
