2022 FIFA World Cup Day 4 wrap up: Spain, Japan, Belgium shine

The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicked-off in Qatar entered Day 4 on Wednesday November 23 with 4 matches involving Group E and F teams.

In the opening game of the day, Morocco and Croatia shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw before highly rated Germany were stunned 1-2 by Japan in another shocking result of the 2022 World Cup.

Luis Enrique and his young Spanish side were ruthless in a 7-0 hammering of Costa Rica before Belgium managed to defeat Canada 1-0 courtesy of a Michy Batshuayi first half goal in the final game of the day.

Spain are top of Group C with 3 points and a +7 goal difference while Japan occupy second spot after the victory over Germany who occupy 3rd spot. Costa Rica complete the group and are placed 4th on the log.

Belgium are top of the table in Group F. They are followed by Croatia and Morocco in 3rd and 4th spot respectively. Canada are bottom of the table after the loss to Belgium. Canada will rue lost chances in a game they deserved to win.

The World Cup continues Thursday with the final Matchday One games expected in group G and H.
