More groups in Akwa Ibom have continued to throw their weights behind Governor Udom Emmanuel’s “No cultist or ocultic” politicians will succeed him campaigns in 2023.

The latest group is “De – Voice Assembly”, led by Pastor James Sunny, a former Chairmanship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nsit Ubium Local Government during the last councils election in the State.

Pastor James, who is the president of the group was speaking at a breakfast forum he hosted in Uyo on Tuesday, urging the body of Christ to be steadfast and,  join the band wagon of those advocating “No cultist and ocultic politician” shall succeed Governor Emmanuel movement in 2023.

He said, the time has come for Akwa Ibom and the people of the state to experience the faithfulness of God through a dependable and God-fearing elected leader.

Politically speaking, there is no money in the State to be thrown around, following the industrialization agenda of the Governor to transform Akwa Ibom into an industrial hub, he said, and advised the people to endure for better days are ahead.

“. . .Weeping may endure for a night but, joy cometh in the morning”, Psalm 30: 5, Pst. James added.

James further maintained that, the era of cultist/ocultic leaders who think less of the people when in power, and four years after would turn to solicit another support with palliatives and N5000 as baits are over, noting that, “he who is faithful in little shall be faithful in plenty”.

According to him, “Stalin once ripped all the feathers off a live chicken as a lesson to his followers. He then set the chicken on the floor a short distance away. The chicken was bloodied and suffered immensely, yet, when Stalin began to toss some bits of wheat towards the chicken, it followed him around.

“He said to his followers, this is how easy it is to govern stupid people; they will follow you no matter how much pain you cause them, as long as you throw them a little worthless treat once in a while”.

“Therefore, I want to witness a season of prosperity for our people, where the youths would be gainfully employed in meaningful ventures.

“A generation of vibrant youths who receive valuable orientation where self-esteem and dignity would be restored for mental re-engineering”.

He however, charged the Church leaders to rise up to their responsibility of evangelizing the people, and pray for divine guidance for the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel to clearly see “who is the mind of God for Akwa Ibom”.

Pst. James re-emphasized that, Diasporan politicians should play advisory role than coming to vie for the governorship position in the State adding that, the church should not support any of those he described as itinerant politicians, who indulge in empowering the youths with guns to engage in thuggery and violence.

“I am appealing to the fathers of faith not to celebrate politicians the Church cannot vouche for, rather, they should pray for God to confirm a true shepherd to the Governor.

“A true shepherd who will usher in a new Akwa Ibom, where peace and tranquility will prevail for investment to thrive”.
