Nigerians have been called upon by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi state command to support the government in this critical period by cooperating with the security agencies in maintaining law and order.
The call was made by the state NSCDC commandant, Mr. Donatus Ikemefuna at the opening ceremony of a two day workshop on the roles of private security guards in curbing insurgency in Bauchi organized by the NSCDC, Bauchi state command in collaboration with the state government at the conference hall, Federal secretariat, Bauchi.
Mr. Ikemefuna noted that all hands must be on deck to ward off all the security challenges not only in Nigeria, but in the world, to get rid of people with questionable character, adding that the nation is at the verge of routing out the insurgents in the North-east.
He said that the NSCDC will not leave any stone unturned in prioritizing the training and re-training of private guards in the country to curb insurgency and sought the support of all stakeholders in the fight against the menace.
According to him, the officers and men of the Corps will continue to be partners in progress with the government at all levels to ensure that the citizens and residents in the Nigeria as well as their property are well protected.
The Commandant said that his command will continue to partner with Bauchi state government to ensure that residents are protected adding that his command will soon come up with a programme that will make the young ones in schools throughout the state to be security conscious.
Speaking also, the chairman Bauchi state association of private guards companies, Mr. Stephen Bawa said the workshop is timely and will expose the participants to modern devices for curbing insurgency, kidnapping and the agents of crime.
According to Mr. Bawa, the private guard companies will continue to partner with the NSCDC at all levels to curb the menace of crimes in the area.
