The northern zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has expressed worry over the antics of opposition elements within and outside the party bent on causing discord, rancour and disunity among members.
The APC members who met under the auspices of Northern Zone Stakeholders of the party said in a communiqué after the meeting that no form of shenanigans or merchants of trouble would deter them from uniting the party for victory in 2023 under the leadership of Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya.
The communiqué which was read by the Senator Representing Gombe North, Saidu Ahmed Alkali, appealed to party members to ignore the antics of persons they described as merchants of trouble and remain steadfast in their commitment and loyalty to the party and Government.
The stakeholders met under the Chairmanship of Ambassador Yarima Abdullahi, a prominent politician in the State, while Alhaji Usman Maigari, Alhaji Muhammad Hamza, Kabiru Usman Kukandaka, Federal Commissioner, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, among many other prominent politicians from the zone, also spoke at the occasion.
While appreciating what they described as Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya’s unprecedented developmental strides in all facets of human endeavour amidst the challenging times, they commanded his avowed commitment to the sustenance of the prevailing peace and security in the state.
Enumerating some of the Governor’s achievement in two years which attracted their unprecedented support, the stakeholders said, the zone has experienced the establishment of gigantic projects such as the Teacher Resource Center at Kwami, the complete renovation and upgrading of the Specialist Hospital in Gombe and construction of the Malala-Zaune-Dukkuyel road in Dukku.
Others they noted were the upgrading of the General Hospital in Bajoga, the reconstruction of the bridge linking Dukku, Funakaye and Nafada LGAs amongst other numerous projects across all the wards.
They therefore “resolved to pass a unanimous vote of confidence on Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and reiterate our commitment to continue to support him in his efforts to make Gombe State great”.
Recognizing his ability to lead the party in the State, the Stakeholders said, “as leader of the Party we have recognised the sincerity of His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, to unite all members of our party, we unanimously resolved to support him by working assiduously to promote unity, stability and peace among all members of our great party and the state at large.
