Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, Monday, led his executive council members on an inspection visit to the ongoing International Worship Center project located within the Uyo metropolis.
The project, which has had its commissioning shifted from 2022 to the first quarter of 2023 is being handled by Julius Berger and will accommodate 5,000 worshippers.
The International worship center project has received significant attention from the Udom Emmanuel led administration because as stated by the Governor during one of his visits to the project site, “It will attract blessings from God to the people of the only state named after God in Nigeria.”
The delay in completion of the project by construction firm, Julius Berger, Global Patriot Newspapers gathered, is due to the complex and very challenging engineering design of the facility which the company says will be a “pride to the people of the state when completed.”
The Center, when completed, will look like a whale fish from an Ark and will serve as location for inter denominational worship and other Christian activities.
Akwa Ibom State has a 99 percent Christian population with close to a thousand registered Churches.
