Friends, relatives, associates and well-wishers will pay special respects to departed popular society personality, Chief Sir Okechukwu Obumneme Felix Achebe (Nnabuenyi) tomorrow, Saturday, March 30, 2024 in New Jersey, United States of America (USA).
According to a program of events, there will be the viewing of DJ Chebez, as he was popularly known, at the Shooks Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave, Cedar Grove, New Jersey from 2pm.
Later same tomorrow, there will be a Celebration of Life event, to honor Sir Okey Achebe’s memory, at the Holiday Inn Ballroom, 160 Frontage Road, Newark, New Jersey, from 7pm.
The rites of passage for the departed celebrity, who was a strong member of the Nigerian Diaspora Community in the USA, will move to his native home, Ogidi, Anambra State, Nigeria, where he will be buried on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Born on August 7, 1959 in Nigeria, Okey Achebe passed on to glory on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in New Jersey, USA and is survived by his wife (Dr. Mrs. Chinelo Achebe), three young children, close relatives, a host of loved ones, friends, and well wishers.
