AlaIgbo Development Foundation holds 10th anniversary celebration; Names new leadership

Pan-Igbo group, AlaIgbo Development Foundation (ADF), will commemorate the 10th anniversary of its formation from Friday, July 12 to Saturday, July 13, 2024.

The event, which will hold at the Abia State Conference Center, (Dr. Michael Okpara Auditorium) State House Umuahia, Abia State, will have as Chief Guest of Honour, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti.

It will feature traditional arts and craft of ndi Igbo, dance, epic poetry etc as well as “presentations of ADF history of struggle and achievements this past ten years and a projection for the years ahead.”

The publication of the dates for the landmark anniversary celebration comes alongside the announcement of new leaders for the group, with
Nze Emeka Coleman Chukwudelunzu as President.

A statement by Mazi Oluchi Ibeh listed other members of the new executive committee as Col. Joel Ogbonna, Vice President (Diaspora), Architect Eric Eyutchae, Vice President (National), Capt. Casmir Nwafor, Secretary, and Engr. Vincent Obi, Deputy Secretary.

Others are Chief Alex Okemmiri, Financial Secretary, Mazi Onochie Ukeme, Treasurer, Prof. Philip Akah, Legal Adviser, Mazi Oluchi Ibeh, Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ndubisi Anienugu, Deputy Publicity Secretary, Prince Solomon Udochukwu, National Organizing Secretary, Comrade Linda Monday Chinwendu, Welfare and Comrade Joachim Anyanwu, Membership Secretary.

The statement said that the general election that produced the new leadership took place on June 29, 2024 in “a calm atmosphere devoid of conflicts but full of enthusiasm and brotherly camaraderie,” and that it was midwifed by the ADF Electoral Committee led by Dr. Nwoga.

While stating that the certificates of return will be issued to the winners of the election during the anniversary celebration on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Dr. Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia (Government House), the statement pointed out that the new executive will also be inaugurated at the program.

It wished the new leaders a peaceful tenure and prayed “for the consolidation of the gains and giant strides ADF has made since the last ten years of its formation.”
