Boxing: Usyk beats fury to retain heavyweight titles

In what was a hugely anticipated Boxing heavyweight clash, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury to keep his unified WBA, WBC, and WBO world heavyweight titles at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

The fight was a hard-fought 12 rounds, with the momentum shifting between the two fighters. However, Usyk managed to handle Fury’s aggressive approach and gained control in the later rounds.

All three judges scored the fight 116-112 in favour of Usyk, giving him a unanimous decision win.

This was the second meeting between the two boxers, with Usyk having previously beaten Fury in May, 2024 to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.
