A convenient piecemeal amendment of an incurably flawed, adjunct and shewed sectional military imposed decree nicknamed “Constitution”, is NOT Restructuring!
Granting financial autonomy by Federal judicial might directly to skewed Local Government/Council Areas of inequitable Federating Units of a Federation is not Restructuring!
A centrally controlled tax reform is an extortion and not Restructuring!
Creating State Police that is remotely controlled by Federal Police is not Restructuring!
Regional/Geopolitical Zonal Development Commissions are NOT the same as Regional Governments envisaged and practiced by the Founding Leaders of Nigeria at Nigeria’s Independence from October 01, 1960 to January 15, 1966; before the military imposed itself on Nigeria!
The so called Constitutional amendments are all autocratic in nature, unitary and impositions that further strengthen the abhorrent status quo.
The ongoing constitutional amendments are mere palliative treatments of symptoms and not a permanent cure of the disease!
A Federation is a two tier governance structure and NOT three!
A Federation consists of a Center and Federating Units only.
So, if Nigeria is operating a Federal system of government, the Center has no business whatsoever directly dictating to and/or controlling Local Government/ Council Areas within the Federating Units in whatever form!
Any devolution that doesn’t grant Regional/Federating Units autonomy, to paddle their own canoe, own and manage their own resources, take their destiny in their own hands, govern themselves as they prefer and develop at their own pace, is like a tree without roots!
The perennial constitutional amendments that gulp billions of Naira each time, that leads to nowhere, without tangible results and/or progress is a pure taqiyya, destined for the doom’s day and awaiting fatality to happen!
Do not rejoice and/or glory in superficial and/or superlative cajoling of symptoms while the disease is left to fatally advance!
