Inquest links death of Davido’s friend Tiny to penis enlargement procedure
A United Kingdom inquest has revealed that British influencer and businessman Igho Ubiribo, popularly known as Tiny or Ego, died from a pulmonary embolism linked to a penis enlargement procedure he underwent in Thailand.
According to reports, Ubiribo received filler injections at an unnamed clinic in Thailand in March while holidaying with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen.
He was staying at a Marriott hotel in Bangkok when he underwent the procedure.
Following the treatment, Ubiribo reportedly went for a massage, during which he complained of chest pain and lost consciousness twice.
He was subsequently taken by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital, where he was initially able to respond normally to questions. His wife also informed medical personnel about the filler injections he had received.
His primary care doctor in London told the inquest that Ubiribo had previously undergone an operation on his joints and had a medical history that included pre-diabetes and gout, but no other health conditions were reported.
Doctors in Thailand recommended a CT scan, but Ubiribo lost consciousness before the examination could be carried out.
The inquest found that he suffered a pulmonary embolism, a condition in which a blood clot or other material blocks a blood vessel in the lungs.
He was transferred to intensive care, where medical personnel performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for about 100 minutes, but he died shortly afterwards.
A post-mortem examination conducted in the United Kingdom later found materials in his lungs consistent with the filler used during the enlargement procedure and concluded that the procedure caused the embolism.
Ubiribo was a friend of Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, who publicly mourned him following his death.
At Ubiribo’s funeral service on May 29, Davido described his late friend as a person with considerable energy and presence, saying he never imagined he would have to speak about him in the past tense.
The singer had earlier paid tribute to Ubiribo, recalling how much his friend loved and believed in him and promising not to let him down.
Ubiribo and Davido had publicly demonstrated their friendship before his death, including an exchange in December in which Ubiribo expressed pride in the singer and Davido responded.
