Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu State, has approved the appointment of Mr Richard Agu, Chairman of the Board of Enugu Air, as Commissioner-Designate for the Enugu State Ministry of Transport.
Mbah announced the appointment in a statement released by Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, Secretary to the Enugu State Government, on Wednesday in Enugu.
Onyia said, “In accordance with the provisions of the law, his name has been forwarded to the Enugu State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation”.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Agu replaces Mr. Obi Ozor as the new Commissioner for Transport.
NAN reports that Ozor resigned following alleged Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) probe for embezzlement of funds amounting to billions of Naira.
