Peter Obi visits Air Force facility in Abuja, signs condolence register, prays

Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, has paid a visit to a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) facility in Abuja to formally sign the condolence register.

The visit, according to the former Governor of Anambra State, was further to his earlier condolence message to the government, the NAF, and families of the victims of the air crash that occurred in Ondo State and led to the death of all on board the NAF aircraft, including military personnel and some civilians.

In an X post, Mr. Obi said his visit to the Abuja NAF facility gave him “another opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made daily by the men and women of our Armed Forces and other security agencies in the line of duty.

“These courageous Nigerians put their lives on the line to defend our nation and protect our people. We must never take their service and sacrifice for granted.”

He again extended his “deepest condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and to the families, colleagues, and loved ones of those who lost their lives,” and prayed God to “grant eternal rest to the departed and give their families the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss.”

He also prayed that God would “continue to protect all those who serve our country.”
