Federal University Lokoja organises Colloquium in honour of Emeritus Professor Olu Obafemi
The Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State, is set to host its 4th Annual Colloquium in honour of Emeritus Professor Olu Obafemi on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.
The topic of the Colloquium is “Creativity as Criticism in Olu Obafemi’s Works,” and the programme is being organised by the University in collaboration with it’s Department of English and Literary Studies.
The literary feast will begin at 12 noon at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Felele Campus, Federal University Lokoja.
The programme will celebrate Professor Obafemi’s several decades of contributions to creative writing and literary criticism.
The event is expected to bring together academics, literary scholars, students and other guests to discuss his works and their importance in literary studies.
The invitation was signed by Dr Peter Okpeh, Head of the Department of English and Literary Studies, Dr Abba Abba, Chairman of the Colloquium Committee and Dr. Grace Olarewaju, Secretary.
Professor Obafemi, a National Merit Award recipient, is a highly respected Nigerian literary scholar, playwright and poet whose works have contributed to the development of literature and theatre in Nigeria.
