The Unity Day, instituted by royal decree on November 4, 2025, to commemorate the United Nations (UN) Security Council’s October 31, 2025, resolution on Western Sahara, is Morocco’s new annual national holiday, and aims to affirm national cohesion.
King Mohammed VI of Morocco declared October 31 a national holiday to mark the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2797, which, on that date, endorsed Morocco’s autonomy plan for the Sahara as the basis for negotiations.
All Moroccans within the New York area and beyond are expected to attend the program, which would be colorful.
