Worried by the level of involvement by civil servants in Bayelsa State politics, Governor Seriake Dickson, Tuesday, begged politicians to leave career public workers alone.
Dickson, who cautioned workers not to allow themselves to be used by desperate politicians in achieving their ambitions, vowed to reposition the civil service in the state by carrying out effective reforms that would be result oriented and respectable.
Dickson who spoke through his Information and Orientation Commissioner, Jonathan Obuebite during a meeting with the departments, agencies and ministries said, government was purely repositioning the service to function effectively in line with best practice
He commended the top hierarchy of the civil service for supporting the ongoing reforms in the service, saying that it would go a long way in enthroning a civil service that would be apolitical, disciplined and focused.
