Again, House of Reps Speaker, Dogara, applauds Ugwuanyi for exemplary leadership

The Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara at the weekend commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for what he called his people-oriented leadership style, urging political leaders in the country to do likewise.

Dogara who was in Enugu along with several members of the House of Representatives for a thanksgiving service called by Hon. Chukwuemeka Ujam, member representing Nkanu East and West in the Federal House of Representatives, pointed out that Governor Ugwuanyi’s achievements within this short period of his administration have been re-echoing at the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.

He had similarly commended the governor last November during a grand reception of him by the people of Enugu North Senatorial District during which he stated that the governor would provide quality service and leadership that will put smiles on the faces of the people of the state.

Hon. Dogara told the crowd that gathered at Akpasha Community Secondary School, Akegbe-ugwu in Awkunanaw, Nkanu West Local Government Area of the State that Governor Ugwuanyi’s leadership style has resulted in the present delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the state, adding that it did not come as a surprise to the national assembly members considering the governor’s outstanding performances during his tenure as a House of Representatives member.

He therefore, enjoined other leaders in the country to emulate his style of governance so that Nigerians would feel the benefit of democracy.

Governor Ugwuanyi, while appreciating the Speaker for gracing the event used the opportunity to appeal to him and other members of the National Assembly at the occasion to remember Enugu State in the process of passing the 2016 budget.

While delivering his homily, the Bishop of Trinity Methodist Church of Nigeria, Agbani, Arch Bishop Christopher Nweke Edeh, charged all political office holders in Nigeria to shun corruption in the discharge of their duties.

He stressed the need for them to use their good offices to render selfless services to humanity instead of allowing their personal interests and greed to lead them into embezzlement of public funds. He pointed out that upon death, God will not forsake them for alleviating the plight of the needy in the society.
