Ahmed charges IBEDC on electricity supply

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has charged the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) to match its revenue collection process with electricity supply to the public.

Governor Ahmed gave the charge when he received the management team of the Company led by its Chairman, Dr Olatunde Ayeni at the Government House, Ilorin.

According to him, it is imperative for IBEDC to match demand with supply in value addition to the end users of electricity.

He emphasised the need for the Company to embark on advocacy on collection process, availability and unavailability of electricity supply to keep the public abreast with information at all times.

Governor Ahmed who promised to deploy necessary facilities to improve access to electricity assured that his government would strengthen existing relationship with the Company in order to improve electricity supply and stimulate local economy.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Company, Dr Olatunde Ayeni had encouraged the public to pay their bills regularly to enable the Company supply more electricity to the public.

Dr Ayeni said the company intends to distribute 250,000 pre-paid metres to its customers across its coverage area.
