Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has promised residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) that they will enjoy the benefits of their hard work if she is elected as senator in 2027.
Yesufu made this known on Sunday in a statement shared on her verified X account, where she spoke about plans to introduce an Abuja Residents Empowerment Bill.
The co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls Movement said the proposed bill would focus on improving the lives of residents, especially young people and women.
According to her, the legislation would create opportunities for youth and women-owned businesses through government contracts.
“The Rent Control component of my Bill will protect you from unjust rent hikes. Double taxation elimination, Skills Empowerment spending that empowers Abuja residents with real skills.
“Access to Capital mandates that ensure a portion of Abuja taxes is used to provide micro-loans to support businesses,” she wrote.
Yesufu added that her plans are aimed at helping residents grow their businesses and improve their standard of living in the nation’s capital.
