Arase honoured by Police Service Commission in Abuja; For burial on Friday, October 3, 2025 in Benin
The Chairman’s Conference Hall of the Police Service Commission (PSC) on the 6th floor of the Commission’s Corporate headquarters in Abuja, has been named Solomon Arase Hall in honour of the Commission’s late Chairman and retired Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. Solomon Arase, CFR, NPM, fdc.
As part of its programme of activities to give Dr. Arase a befitting final farewell, the PSC also organized a Day of Tributes for Arase on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Police Resource Centre Jabi Abuja, and was represented by a high powered delegation at a requiem mass at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Maitama Abuja yesterday, Friday, September 26, 2025.
A lying in State at his Abuja residence in Maitama today, Saturday September 27, 2025, will precede the airlift to Benin, Edo State of the late super cop’s remains for the continuation of the burial rites.
A strong delegation from the Commission, according to Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations, PSC, will also be in Edo state for the final burial rites of late Dr. Arase.
Speaking at the Day of Tributes in Abuja on Wednesday, the Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu rtd mni had said that his predecessor was not only a Police Officer of repute, a Scholar and a reformer, but a gentleman of rare courage and intellect. Argungu was represented at the well attended event by the Director, Human Resource Management, Aminu Malumfashi.
Dr. Arase’s remains will be lowered to mother earth, on Friday, October 3, 2025 in his Benin residence.
