As Olympic Games start today: Empire State Building lights up in celebration

The famous Empire State Building of the United States of America (USA) will, today, Friday, July 23, 2021 celebrate the nations of the world and their athletes who will be competing in this year’s Tokyo, Japan Olympic Games.

The Empire State Building,  known as “the World’s Most Famous Building,” will, as part of the celebration which marks the commencement of the Olympic Games that start today, and ends on Sunday August 8, 2021, be illuminating its world famous tower lights in rotating colors of participating nations’ flags.
Owned by the Empire State Realty Trust, Inc., the Building towers 1,454 feet above Midtown Manhattan from its base to antenna.
90 years old this year, having been officially opened on May 1, 1931, the iconic building, which was declared America’s Favorite Building by the American Institute of Architects, has its many floors primarily housing several office tenants like LinkedIn, Shutterstock, and Global Brands Group, as well as retail options like STATE Grill and Bar, Tacombi, and Starbucks.
The lights will be a great spectacle and will be viewed live by millions of people. The Tokyo, Japan Olympic Games also promises to provide a world that is gradually waking up from the nightmare of COVID-19 some memorable moments.
The United States, like many other countries of the world have athletes competing for medals in the different sports at the Games.
