Former Vice President of Nigeria and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has arrived the United States of America.
He is in the largest democracy in the world to hold meetings with US government officials, Nigerians in Diaspora, especially those living in the Washington DC area and the international business community.
Alhaji Abubakar confirmed his arrival in the US through his twitter account @atiku.
He wrote: “Just arrived Washington D.C for meeting with US government officials, Nigerians living in D.C metropolis and the business community. –AA.”
The twit is accompanied by a picture of him being presented with a bouquet of flowers flanked by the head of his Campaign Council and current Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
He landed at the Dulles International Airport and one of his major activities will be a private business roundtable with the US Chamber of Commerce at the USAfrica Business Centre on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 2.30 pm to 4pm.
This visit has debunked the stories by his political opponents that he has issues with the US authorities that have made it impossible for him to enter the US without being arrested.
Before jetting into the US, Alhaji Atiku had had highly successful meetings with the Nigerian business community and with key players in the creative industry, both in Lagos, Nigeria.
