President Muhammadu Buhari, Wednesday August 31, 2016, received the Governor of Bauchi state in the State House Abuja.
It is believed that the visit has to do with the crisis rocking the state chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The crisis has pitched the governor and his supporters against the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara and his own supporters.
There was a protest at the national secretariat of the party recently, by those believed to be supporters of the Speaker who were said to have taken the action to stop the governor and his supporters from visiting the secretariat to state their own side of the story.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dogara, has visited President Buhari over the crisis and it is believed that the governor has gone to the State House to also state his side of the story.
Observers believe that it is only the President that can look the warring factions straight in the face and tell them the home truths that would bring about a peaceful resolution of the crisis that has deeply divided the party in the state, and that could lead to the loss of the governorship position come the next general elections.
The coming days would determine whether the intervention of the President has yielded desired result and brought back unity in the state chapter of the party
