The Bayelsa State Secretary to the State Government, SSG Chief Serena Dokubo-Spiff, has blamed the opposition and mischief makers over the purported rumour of his resignation.
Dokubo –Spiff, former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chairman in the state and close ally of Governor Dickson, was reported to have thrown in the towel by handing over his resignation letter to the Acting Governor of the state, Real Admiral John Jonah (retd) on Wednesday.
But reacting to the alleged resignation in an interview, Dokubo-Spiff ,who was visibly angry, said he remained loyal to his political godfather and mentor, Governor Seriake Dickson, and has never contemplated leaving his Restoration Government.
Insisting that such mischievous rumours were the handiwork of the opposition and mischief makers who never wish the Ijaw nation well, the SSG added that governor Dickson remained the only person to take Ijaw nation out of its present political and economic doldrums.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I was at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) passing out ceremony at Kaiama, where I represented His Excellency Governor  Seriake Dickson.
“I am vehemently angry at this kind of orchestrated and wicked rumour which intention was to derail the Restoration Government of Governor Dickson and slow down development. It is wicked, malicious, and
dangerous”, he maintained.
The rumour further had it that the resignation of Chief Serena Dokubo-Spiff  was however rejected by the State Acting Governor, Gboribiogha John Jonah who prevailed on him to allow the Governor return from his annual leave.
