Following a renewed attack in the Borno State, Wednesday, by the Boko Haram insurgents, the Nigerian Army has consequently imposed a fresh twenty-four hour curfew on the city, just as normalcy is said to have been restored in the area by the military.
The curfew was announced Thursday morning by the 7 Brigade of the Nigerian Army after Boko Haram terrorists last night launched an attack on Ladi Kayamla, a community located near Maiduguri.
The attack late last night, though repelled by gallant Nigerian troops saw the terrorists sending out two female suicide bombers who detonated their strapped explosives ahead of the attack, which took place from around 6pm and lasted for about two hours.
Director Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, while confirming the incident, said that normalcy has been restored as the troops conducted mopping up operations in the area while the offensive on all terrorists forest locations continue.
