Congratulations to you, Romeo Oriogun (Does this name, in any sense, translate to ‘the eye of Ogun’?: if so, some eyes were really watching over you!) whom I have ‘met’ only in the online universe.

But my heart goes out to Saddiq and Su’eddie, the ones I have met in flesh-and-blood, and with whose works I am more familiar and for whom I’d felt a certain pulsation ever since the short list was announced.

And, mighty kudos for those on the longlist including Iquo DianaAbasi and the perennial Obari Gomba, the PAWA laureate. Kudos, Romeo, and for the others, tomorrow, surely, is another hunting day.
