Breaking news: Uche Nwosu not kidnapped; Arrested by Police for alleged sponsorship of unknown gunmen

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Imo State, Mr. Uche Nwosu, contrary to reports that he was kidnapped, has been arrested by the Police in Imo State.

Reports had it that Nwosu, son in-law of former Governor of the state, Chief Rochas Okorocha was kidnapped from St. Peters Anglican Church Nkwerre by fully armed gunmen inside the church and put in a car booth and driven away amidst serious shootings.
Mike Abatam, CSP, Police spokesman Imo State, has confirmed that Nwosu was arrested by the Command’s operatives and is presently in their custody.
A credible source told GPNews that Nwosu is allegedly linked to the sponsorship of the violence that has bedeviled the state.
The source said that the Police had been on his trail for a while and would have arrested him during a recent burial but that he had been evading arrest for some time.
He said that the Police are about to hold a press conference on the issue and that soon other high profile persons connected with the violence in the state would be named and apprehended.
There has not yet been a statement by Nwosu or Okorocha’s families.

ARREST OF CHIEF UCHE NWOSU

This is to inform the general public that chief Uche Nwosu was not kidnapped but was arrested by the police and Imo state police command is aware of the arrest and presently he is in police custody.

This is to refute the earlier news that has being making rounds on social media that he was kidnapped by unknown persons / gunmen.

The Commissioner of Police while using this medium to assure imolites of the command’s commitment in ensuring the safety of Life and prosperity this yuletide seasons , adviced the general public to always shun fake news .
