Former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa has said he is of the rightful age to contest for the office of the president in the 2019 general election describing President Muhammadu Buhari as his political student.
Bafarawa, who spoke to journalists after attending the event in Sokoto where he formally accepted his endorsement by his party members of the People Democratic Party PDP, said he is under 60 and possesses the required experience to govern Nigerians.
He therefore urged those who are 70 years and above to quit the stage or resign their positions.
The former governor said he has been studying the political situation in the country for some time and has decided now to accept the clarion call of his people.
Bafarawa 2019 presidential declaration was attended by Elders, women , youths,as well as the party leadership in the 23 local government areas of the state.
