MEDEAMA FC 1-0 REMO STARS
Remo Stars Sports Club were defeated 1-0 in Ghana by Medeama FC in their CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg clash on Sunday August 20.
The Sky Blues arrived in Ghana on Saturday August 19 to face Medeama in what is their first ever CAF Champions League game.
Despite putting up a brave showing at the Cape Coast Stadium, Remo Stars fell 1-0 to Medeama FC in the first leg clash following a second half goal by Sowah to hand the home side a slim advantage.
It was decent performance by Coach Daniel Ogunmodede tutored Stars, one that presents them with a good chance of a turnaround in Ikenne.
The second leg will take place in Nigeria in seven days at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne with the aggregate winners progressing to the next round of this years CAF Champions League.
AL AHLI 4-3 ENYIMBA FC
Nigerian Champions Enyimba FC bowed to a 4-3 result away to Al Ahli Benghazi in a 2023/2024 CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg clash.
The game on Sunday August 20, 2023 produced seven goals with the People’s Elephants drawing first blood in Libya.
Striker Chijioke Mboama shot Enyimba FC in front before the hosts levelled in minute thirty-two.
Enyimba FC left back Imo Obot diverted a cross into his own net ten minutes later to gift Al Ahli Benghazi a 2-1 lead at the break.
The second half produced loads of action with Eze Ekwutoziam and Murphy Ndukwu cancelling Al Ahli Benghazi leads to put the score at 3-3 before a heartbreaking stoppage time winner for the hosts secured a 4-3 first leg result.
