The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF), in partnership with global sports brand PUMA, has officially unveiled the match ball for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025.
Named ITRI, the ball combines Morocco’s centuries-old zellij geometric patterns with PUMA’s advanced Orbita 6 technology, celebrating the perfect blend of African tradition and modern innovation.
The new match ball will make its debut when the tournament kicks off on 21 December 2025 in Morocco.
Inspired by Morocco’s rich cultural heritage, the ITRI design reflects the intricate beauty of zellij mosaics, featuring star shapes, floral petals, and circular symmetry — each carrying deep meaning.
•Star geometry represents ambition, light, and the pursuit of excellence on Africa’s biggest football stage.
•Petal shapes symbolise celebration, growth, and the joy of the AFCON festival.
•Circular symmetry stands for the unity of the 24 nations competing in the tournament.
The ball’s vibrant red and green colours express passion, hope, and pride while honouring Morocco’s national identity. It also includes a special ‘Flow of Movement’ pattern, reflecting the rhythm and dynamic energy of African football.
CAF’s Creative Development Manager, Mohamed Ghonemi, said:

The design process began soon after Morocco was announced as host of AFCON 2025, involving detailed cultural research, creative development, and performance testing.
Built on PUMA’s Orbita 6 technology, the ITRI ball offers top-level performance and durability while celebrating African culture and Moroccan artistry.
