The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has extended the deadline for the Bank Verification Number (BVN) registration.
The registration exercise which will now continue till October 31, 2015, had earlier been set for Tuesday, June 30 leading many customers to besiege banks, on deadline day.
Many had earlier urged the CBN to review the deadline just as the bank’s Director of Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Mu’azu caused panic when he reportedly said that no extension would be granted as sufficient time had been given for registration.
About 14 million Nigerians are said to have already registered for their BVNs.
