Chief (Mrs) Ayodele Christiana Osidein turned 80 recently, and family, friends, church brethren, associates and well-wishers from all over the world gathered to give her a well deserved birthday celebration.
The online (zoom) and physical ceremony was an occasion of great joy for the celebrant, for her children, grand children and relatives, friends and well-wishers who turned up to honor the new entrant into the special club of octogenarians.
The program in her honor started off with an online Thanksgiving Service conducted by the the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Dominion Cathedral, Orange, New Jersey, United States, presided over by the Senior Pastor, Pastor (Mrs) Toyin Laoye, who rained prayers on the celebrant and her family.
There were testimonies of the faithfulness of God from the celebrant, her children, grandchildren as well as relatives and friends from different parts of the world, including from Chief (Mrs.) Osidein’s days at the Ikenne Methodist Church, those that joined the celebration from Abeokuta, from Lagos and those in the US where she has been a committed Elder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The reminiscences were of good times, of Chief (Mrs.) Osidein’s good deeds as a loving mother of many children, and of her life of service to God and to the community, and there were prayers for better times to come for her and for children and grandchildren.
The well attended program did not end without the celebrant cutting a beautiful cake made in her honor. She also showed off some grand dance steps to give all a glimpse of what it was like in her younger years.
Thanksgiving, songs of praise and worship of the Almighty God, testimonies, laughter and joy marked the program from the beginning to the end, and these will continue long after.
