United States of America based political leader, Chief Sir Polly Ubah, has tongue lashed Igbo billionaires for standing by and doing nothing while a Nigerian of Yoruba extraction, Chief Femi Otedola, rose to the occasion regarding the health condition of football legend, ‘Chairman’ Christian Chukwu.

Chief Sir Ubah, 1st Vice President, Peoples Club of Nigeria National/International and one of the founding members, and former Deputy National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, USA, was reacting to a Global Patriot Newspapers, GPNews, story concerning the gift of $50,000 to Chukwu, a former Captain of the national football team, by Otedola, founder and owner of Zenon Petroleum and Gas, for treatment of a health condition.

He said that “It is not only disappointing but equally disgusting that a detribalized Yoruba man could embark on such a timely rescue mission for a sports celebrity of Igbo descent while Igbo Billionaires looked the other way and did nothing to save the life of this sports legend.”

He commended Chief Otedola for not only pledging the $50,000 but also for redeeming it, saying that the gift was a major contribution towards saving the life of the football icon, asking in disappointment: “Where are the Igbo billionaires that enjoyed Chairman Chukwu’s football sports entertainment for years  like Chief Otedola did?”

Full of gratitude to Chief Otedola, Chief Uba said further: “As a sports fan and admirer of Captain/Chairman Christian Chukwu of Enugu Rangers/Nigerian Super Green Eagles, I sincerely thank Chief Femi Otedola for his kindness and magnanimity. “

He concluded by saying that “Chief Otedola is indeed a genuine and detribalized Nigerian. “

I salute and commend you tremendously on your articles towards Chairman Chukwu’s issues.
Ibo millionaires and fellow Nigerians should emulate exemplary philanthropists like Chief Otedola and you.
